It is vital that we learn to work together creatively. We live in unprecedented times, as evidenced by a population of over seven-and-a-half billion people on the planet, which has never happened before, nor has the impact all these people are having on our planet and the environment. Add to that the coronavirus, which affects everyone, and the recent social and political upheavals, including violence at the U.S. Capitol and a change of American presidents set to take place in a few days. Perhaps these disturbances give indication of the tide going out on human nature. But that alone does not accomplish what is needed. There must be an incoming tide of spiritual awareness, a new state to replace the old state. In this, we have a particular responsibility.
We may be feeling these disturbances in our minds and hearts and bodies. That’s fine, because we know how to deal with them and to not let these currents control us. We look to higher ground for direction—the place of stability from which we can offer a calm voice, despite the turbulence around us.
When the one we call the Master was in human form two millennia ago, he did everything he could to inspire human beings to return to the divine state, but it was not enough. He recognized there had to be a collective grouping that revealed spirit, if human nature’s death grip was to be broken. So, he left us a guide for how to act collectively. He said, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18: 19,20) Of note, he said, “Again,” which indicates he had said something similar before, perhaps many times, knowing how important this was for what was to come.
People gather for all sorts of reasons, some seemingly good, others apparently bad—usually to pursue their own interests with little regard to what is coming forth from spirit. However, the key for meaningful accomplishment is to gather in “his name,” the tone of life, the heavenly vibration. When there is agreement in heaven, in the one overarching spirit, then magic happens. Creative function moves from above, down.
Let me share a personal experience. Recently, we needed to replace our front door in Colorado. It was made of metal and is south facing, so it got a lot of sun and became hot in the afternoons. Over the years, the door shifted in its frame and some glue around a small window in it melted and the door no longer closed properly. We opted for a fiberglass door, which is well-insulated and lasts a long time in our climate. These days, they imprint a wood-grain pattern on the door so when it is stained, the door looks like wood. We chose mahogany, to complement the red bricks that surround the door on the outside. However, Joyce and I had different views of how to finish it inside. I thought the richness of the dark stain would look good. She felt it would clash with the oak floor and wanted to have it painted an off-white color to match our trim.
We arranged for a painter to do a professional job. But, we were at an impasse. In our marriage, if we are not in agreement, we know not to proceed, no matter what needs to be done. Agreement is the basis for all we do together. The same should be true of any creative consideration, and of any size. In the world, committees and boards and governments with members at odds often hammer out a compromise, about which no one feels good. When there is ego involvement, people fight for their views because they see them as an extension of themselves, and if that is rejected, they feel rejected. Thankfully, we did not have that problem. We each offered our opinions with no strings attached. Whichever course of action emerged as the right one was fine with both of us. Agreement should not be in form, but in spirit.
As it turned out, two days before the painters were to show up, I came downstairs in the morning and looked at the door and realized Joyce was right, that the mahogany would not look good inside. My view shifted. So, we went with her choice of color on the door and two accompanying sidelights. It came out beautifully and looks elegant. We both felt good about it. Our views aligned.
There was no pressure to force an agreement, for without agreement, we would have waited and rescheduled. Sometimes there are factors in motion that need to line up before we can move forward. Everything is connected to everything else. Whatever we do has consequences everywhere. So, patience is required to allow all the factors to align, particularly those that are unseen. Then, it is time to act, and not before.
Different perspectives are necessary and give a more complete picture. It is not a question of who is right. We are made differently and have our individual takes. They need not be in conflict, though that is the way most people interpret different views. It is easy and fluid if we are egoless and not attached to the decision that emerges. It need not be a competition. That is how to function collectively.
Another personal event comes to mind which may help fill out our consideration. Recently, we traveled from Colorado to Arizona. We were driven to the airport, which gave me opportunity to look out the window and watch the countryside pass by. On the plane, I watched as we flew high above the Rocky Mountains, and then over northern New Mexico and finally across Arizona. We were then driven to our abode in Oro Valley. So, I was quite aware of crossing terrain over 900 miles. Yet, at the same time, I was having a very different experience. It was as if I was not moving at all, but in a central place and the scenery around me was shifting. It was like being in a movie theater where a story unfolds on screen, but you never leave your seat.
So, which of these two views is the correct one?
The human mind does not like paradoxes or incongruities. It thinks linearly. The answer is that they are both right. Beyond the outer mind is an inner mind, a transcendent place of remembrance. And, that level of consciousness is quite happy to have different perspectives at the same time. No need to judge on the basis of mental choice. There is not a right or wrong, in that sense. We can all be comfortable seeing with an outer, human view, and also an inner, transcendent view. They are not in conflict, but coexist as two aspects of one thing.
All views are welcome. We do not need to feel forced to choose one over the other. The creative process works, and the way forward becomes apparent, which may be an already expressed view, or something completely different. God sees input from all of creation and that offers a complete picture. Life sorts out an infinite number of views and factors and finds the appropriate way forward, as long as humans don’t muck it up. We need only let go of our ego-driven opinions and flow with the movement of spirit. What is needed becomes obvious.
Here are excerpts from an article published in Scientific American, by Tam Hunt, which speaks of our perceptions. (December 5, 2018) I love the title, which is, “The hippies were right: It’s all about vibrations, man!” It is subtitled, “A new theory of consciousness.”
All things in our universe are constantly in motion, vibrating. Even objects that appear to be stationary are in fact vibrating, oscillating, resonating, at various frequencies. Resonance is a type of motion, characterized by oscillation between two states. And ultimately all matter is just vibrations of various underlying fields.
An interesting phenomenon occurs when different vibrating things come into proximity: they will often start, after a little time, to vibrate together at the same frequency. They “sync up,” sometimes in ways that can seem mysterious. This is described today as the phenomenon of spontaneous self-organization.
Resonance is a truly universal phenomenon and at the heart of what can sometimes seem like mysterious tendencies toward self-organization.
Based on the observed behavior of the entities that surround us, from electrons to atoms to molecules to bacteria to paramecia… all things may be viewed as at least a little conscious. This sounds strange at first blush, but “panpsychism”—the view that all matter has some associated consciousness—is an increasingly accepted position with respect to the nature of consciousness.
The panpsychist argues that consciousness did not emerge; rather, it’s always associated with matter, and vice versa (they are two sides of the same coin), but mind as associated with most of the matter in our universe is generally very simple. An electron or an atom, for example, enjoy just a tiny amount of consciousness. But as matter “complexifies,” so mind complexifies, and vice versa…
Here is another paradox. Which came first, matter or consciousness? Again, from a higher perspective, it all makes sense. It need not be one or the other. They are one and the same. All matter, and thus all consciousness, is connected in spirit. God sees through the eyes of his creation, which gives him total understanding. He sees from an infinite number of perspectives, from rocks and grass to self-aware human consciousness. The current distortion of human behavior and warped understanding muddy the waters a bit, but God is clever and can compensate for that, although it would be so much better if humankind was in its rightful place!
A central vibration emerges from Source. It resonates and what is similar begins to vibrate at that frequency and adds to the resonance. As humans, we can sync up consciously with that carrier wave and experience resonance. If that were to happen with all humankind, nature would sync up with our radiance, and everything earthly would move as one. All parts would then be in phase within the invisible heaven, and the world would be transformed. Maybe it does not take all of us to set these changes in motion—only a smaller, representative collective, aligned in spirit, in agreement, gathered in his name. We have the opportunity right now to connect to that central vibration, the tone of life, each in our own way. This is how divine governance is extended, for it is a vibrational pattern of control and design.
Whether as individuals or as a group, if we are resonant with the central vibration emerging from spirit, it will set in motion an invisible force that draws what is needed. The vibration so extended lets things link up, or sync up, so that what is needed falls into place without human manipulation. No muss, no fuss, no sweat of the brow. This is the essence of the creative process, and is how heaven is known on earth.
People who experience even a whiff of this kind of spiritual alignment, are amazed at the synchronicity that might ensue. They assume it must be good fortune smiling on them, that they are just lucky. We know better. Synchronicity is the natural way of life, for life wants to provide for our needs, and do so abundantly. If we are one with spirit, everything will be at hand. It just happens. Like the Biblical lilies of the field, there is no need to toil and work hard, to force things to take the shape we think is needed. The organizing principle will take care of everything. We need only to trust that which we know to be supremely trustworthy.
We function wisely when we align with the central vibratory current of spirit. Resonance links us up. Collectively, we may magnify the current that emerges from the invisible realm. That is how we move with the uprising tide of divine awareness on earth. Let the old state pass away that the resonant, divine state may appear. We are creators, and we know how to create together. That is the way of love, which draws everything into oneness. And that is our sacred mission; it is why we are here during these tumultuous times. We are all needed, each one unique. Together, we may reveal the glory and the wonder of heaven right where we are.
